KLUBIRD LogoMotto: Fostering unity through sports and socialization.

For many years, staff members of the Inland Revenue Division fought with the idea of forming a club, but the it never went past the drafting stage.

However, in 1997, a few determined members decided to start working on the foundation and yes, we saw the establishment of KLUBIRD (Klub Inland Revenue Division) in July 1997.

Membership in Klubird is open to all present and past members of staff, however the club has some non-revenue affiliates.

The aims and objectives of the Club are as follows:

  • To foster the spirit of togetherness among Inland Revenue Staff
  • To promote and assist in the development of sports and social activities within the Division
  • To work in unity with other sports organizations
  • To promote the development of regional collaboration on all IRD matters

The above objectives are achieved through events such as hikes, moonlight picnics, sporting activities just to name a few. However, the main event that members look forward to is the Inland Revenue Regional Games held annually in a different country, during the Easter weekend.

Some of the games played are:

  • dominoes
  • cricket
  • football
  • lime and spoon

The event also serves as a tool for learning about the culture of other Caribbean countries through the cultural night and also by mingling with each other.

Over the years, Klubird has made few donations to charitable institutions, namely, The Dominica Infirmary and Operations Youthquake and it is our intention to continue making such donations in the future.

A body cannot function without the head, hence mention must be made of the past presidents of the club. Though the success of the club is dependent on every member, the President plays a very important role. Those of the past must be commended for taking up the challenge of leading.

Over the years KLUBIRD has experienced its share of ups and downs. It is said that determination is the key to success; therefore we will continue to paddle through the rough seas to ensure the success of the Club.
